Hey Everyone! School has ended and am getting ready to head back to the U.S this Friday. I have truly enjoyed my time here and am sad to leave. Even though classes have ended one thing that I have continued is practice yoga daily. This is something that I didn't consistently do back in the U.S. I always worried about breaking a sweat, burning calories, and felt that yoga was just another form of exercise I would throw in the mix time to time. The slide show below are pictures of Dr. Vasudevan from Arsha Yoga in Coimbatore, India.
"Yoga is essentially a system of philosophies even though it addresses topics concerning the mind and it's functions." "Yoga Sastra provides a means of joining the mind and self. It describes various disciplines and tools for purifying the mind which one requires in order to appreciate the true self." Yoga has taught me a lot about myself in a very short time and I have really grown to appreciate it and use it as a tool for myself. Yoga is not exercise, that is an added benefit but it is a daily routine that one does everyday to connect with the world and self before starting the day. Namaste!
