It is officially Vata Season, the principle elements of Vata dosha are air and ether (space). The attributes of Vata dosha are dry, mobile, cold, light, clear and subtle. All of these are heightened during Vata Season with the cold and dry wind which can easily make you imbalanced.
Here are some signs your Vata dosha might be imbalanced:
Sensitivity to cold, damp, and windy weather.
Like increases like in Ayurveda, so think opposite to bring your Vata dosha back to balance by:
Eating warm, moist cooked meals. Eat in season, butternut squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes.
Daily self massage with grounding oils such as sesame or almond oil is calming.
Eating enough healthy fats (ghee) which helps grounds an imbalanced Vata.
Gentle exercise such as yoga, walks nothing overstimulating.
Meditation and/or Pranayama.
Having a routine (Dinacharya) for waking, eating, and sleeping. Stay structured!
Don't be so hard on yourself!
